Course Details
Our course includes training for theory knowledge in addition to different aspects of safe operation with a forklift. Practical training, testing and written assessment are part of the course as well.
Course Requirement
Candidates have completed the NZ Forklift Competenz course in the last 3 years.
Practical Training Session Outline
1. Introduction and Overview (3-5 minutes)
- Objective Briefing: Provide a clear introduction to the session, outlining its purpose and the key objectives to be achieved.
- Key Points Overview: Highlight the core topics, skills, or processes that will be covered during the training.
- Expectations for Practical Test: Set clear expectations for the final practical assessment, stressing the importance of demonstrating proficiency.
2. Training Phase (15-20 minutes)
- Demonstration: Present a concise demonstration of the required skills or process, focusing on critical steps, key techniques, and best practices.
- Guided Practice: Allow participants to practice the skills or tasks under supervision, providing immediate and constructive feedback to ensure correct understanding.
- Q&A session: Allocate time for participants to ask questions, clarify doubts, and ensure they fully grasp the knowledge.
3. Final Practical Assessment (10 minutes)
- Practical Test: Participants will complete the task independently, demonstrating their understanding and ability to apply the skills covered in the session.
- Evaluation: Observe participants during the test, ensuring they follow the correct procedures and apply the learned concepts effectively.
- Feedback: Offer immediate, actionable feedback to each participant, recognizing strengths and providing recommendations for improvement.
4. Re-training and Re-assessment (if necessary)
- If the participant does not meet the expected standards: A re-training and re-assessment session will be scheduled.
- Additional Charges: Please note that extra charges will apply for any re-training or additional assessment sessions ($50 per hour).
Post Completion
Successful and competent operators obtain a ‘Forklift Operator Certificate’ approved by Competenz NZ that can be utilized for 3 years. Post the time, the candidate needs to apply for an extra refresher course. ID card is offered with the qualifications mentioned.
