A Heavy Combination Vehicle with a Gross Combination Mass (GCM) of more than 25,000 Kg is covered by a Class 5 licence.
Before enrolling in the course, candidates must hold a New Zealand Class 5 Learner Licence.
There are both theory and practical sessions in our course.
1. Unit Standard 24089 – Fatigue Management knowledge demonstration along with work time and driver logbook.
(Note:- if you have not undertaken the fatigue course with in 1 year, then you have to re-sit again. No extra charge apply.)
2. Unit Standard 17577 – For meeting the requirement for a full class 5 driver’s licence, operate a rigid vehicle.
Practical Training & Practical Assessment:
An NZTA Licence Endorsement Certificate is awarded following the successful completion of the theoretical and practical exams; this certificate must be presented to any VTNZ Agency for the licence registration process.
Any further practical training or reassessment sessions are subject to additional fees; for more information, please contact us. You must make arrangements for, subject to trainer and vehicle availability. If you need more than your course’s allotted time, an extra fee will apply. All unit standards that have been met will be registered with NZQA, documented, and listed on individual Achievement Records.
Your trainer will give you a performance evaluation at the conclusion of driver training and decide whether more driver training is required.
If you need more driver instruction, your trainer will help you schedule a suitable day and time.
